Love? - Jennifer Lopez Review 4/5 stars

It is finally here! After false starts, label changes and flop singles Jennifer Lopez is officially back! The album is a fusion of rnb, pop and of course dance. The album is extremely well crafted and although there is an abundance of RedOne songs they actually balance The Dream songs out and make the album a solid effort.

1) On The Floor feat. Pitbull - produced by RedOne This is Jennifer Lopez's number one hit that is still in the top 5 after two months of amazing promotion for Miss Lopez.

2) Good Hit - produced by The Dream & Tricky Stewart Perfect follow on from "Floor" this is a perfect throwback to old school JLo creating the perfect pop song infused with her urban flavour. We are still waiting for the video to leak in full! Cordless hair dryers!!!

3) I'm Into You feat. Lil Wayne - Produced by StarGate This serves as the second official single from "Love?" this mid tempo track is quite catchy and definitely a grower. It's saturated in the bahjan sound that Rihanna, Ciara, Amerie love to use. The video will premiere on Tuesday

4) What Is Love? - Produced by D.Mile One of our favourite songs on the album this pop ballad just HAS to be a single. Written by Miss Lopez herself you can really feel her struggle with love and security. It is produced by D'Mile and is our hot pick on the album!

5) Run The World - Produced by Tricky Stewart & The Dream The album switches into rnb mode for this track, it's very "Hold You Down" minus the rap but with a more updated sound. Lopez cruises over the smooth beat. Another favourite on the album

6) Papi - Produced by RedOne - Rumoured to be single number #3 RedOne brings the album back to party mode. This song is just amazing and sounds like a sequel to "On The Floor" the bass thumps hard and the catchy chorus will definitely be one for the clubs.

7) Until It Beats No More - Produced by Radio The only pop ballad on the album while previously they have never been Lopez's strong points you can hear the work she has done on her voice and how she has developed. The song is pure pop beauty in it's finest form

8) One Love - Produced by D'Mile - Mid tempo pop rnb song this is a cruisy track to drive around to. is ano

9) Invading My Mind - Produced by RedOne & Lady GaGa The first GaGa and RedOne collaboration track on the album and you can definitely hear influences from both. This club banger is another highlight from the album and one not to be missed!

10) Villan - Produced by The Dream & Tricky Stewart This rnb track is probably the least favourite on the album, it's not that it's bad just when compared to the rest of the tracks I would have much preferred "Loubitons" added to the album (yes it's not there we where devastated!)

11) Starting Over - Produced by Danja Known for his amazing work on "Blackout" for Britney this track seems a little off centre for Danja, while the electronic element is there it doesn't seem to fit in with Lopez's vocals. That being said it is still a solid track lyrically and electronically.

12) Hypnotico - Produced by RedOne & Lady GaGa The second GaGa/RedOne track will take you a couple of listens to get it and love it. The electro dance track will have you saying Hyp - not- i - co for days! It's extremely catchy and provides a great closing track for the standard edition of the album

13) Everybody's Girl - Produced by Mike Caren and Olgee The revamped song from Love?'s initial tracklisting serves as a bonus track and the updated music seems to suit the song a lot better. This rock inspired electro track blends everything together seamlessly.

14) Take Care - Produced by Tricky Stewart It's nice to see Tricky ditching the Dream for this track. The song is dance pop goodness and builds the "On The Floor" new Jeneration of music.

15) Charge Me Up - Produced by RedOne This track punches hard and shows that when RedOne is paired with a great artist he can produced amazing tracks. The combo of Lopez and RedOne is a marriage made in heaven and should have been done years ago when Love? was first envisioned.

Jennifer Lopez is back on the charts and the last couple of days have been great waking up to a new J-Lo album. This album is definitely one to purchase not just download. The album that is literally years in the making was worth the wait, the only thing missing was "Loubitons" and "Hooked On You". Love? is available in Australian stores and on ITunes now. Love? will be released in the UK on May 2 and the US on May 3.

ALBUM REVIEW Killer Love - Nicole Scherzinger European Version

Nicole Scherzinger started out as lead singer of "The Pussycat Dolls" shining as the only member that can actually carry a tune and dance incredibly (we have seen her live and can confirm this!)
After several false starts at a solo career Nicole found a Top 5 Hit in the UK with her debut single "Poison" produced by RedOne and starts as the first song on the album. The song is pure pop hotness and shines as an outstanding track on the album.
The next track "Killer Love" builds on "Poison" and is one of the hottest songs in pop music right now that you will find yourself going back to again and again.
"Don't Hold Your Breath" is single number 2 and is a outstanding mid tempo pop track. The song has hit the top of the charts in UK and has solidified Scherzinger's positon as a solo artist.
"Right There" is single number three and while we are struggling to understand why, the song is islander style aka Rihanna and Ciara
"You Will Be Loved" is the oddest track on the album, it features yodelling but fortunately Nicole pulls this off perfectly.
"Wet" is another club banger and will have you dancing on the nearest pole and is very Pussycat club banger style.
"Say Yes" could be passed off as album filler but manages to hold it's own as a great pop track
"Club Banger Nation" is exactly as the title describes, this RedOne masterpiece heats it up, slows it down then throws it all back in for a hot ending
The album moves to the ballad side with a duet with Sting called "Power's Out" their voices entwine perfectly together and is a standout song on the album
The next four songs "Desperate, Everybody, Casualty and Amenja" all sound like they run into one another, more thought and time should have been taken with these tracks which is possibly why the album is being re-worked for the US audience.
Overall it's a solid debut from Nicole and should cement her place in pop music as Beyonce did with "Dangerously In Love"
We are still waiting for a Australian release date

"S&M" is Rihanna's tenth #1 single and Britney Spears #5th
“Rihanna’s tenth #1 single is a monumental accomplishment and a testament to her incredible artistry,” said Steve Bartels, President and COO of the Island Def Jam Music Group. “This was a truly collaborative and creative effort, spearheaded by Rihanna’s tireless work and aided in no small part by the incredible Britney Spears and her team. I am extremely proud of Rihanna, her ongoing dominance on the charts, and the entire IDJ team who worked so diligently to bring this one home.”

Girls - Beyonce

Beyonce is back! With a song called "Girls (Who Run The World)" the song samples Major Lazers "Pon Di Floor" the song has been produced by Diplo and Switch. I would like to say that this is something different for Queen B but it is not, it is quite similar to "Lose My Breath" by Destinys Child. The song is a club thumper but lacks lyrical quality and sees Beyonce still running with the "independent woman" theme that she has been banging on for years. Check out the song below

Kelly goes on the promo trail

Hot on the heels of the release of the flop-tastic single "Motivation" Kelly Rowland has hit the promo trail visiting Power 105 Radio to promote the new single. Honestly Kelly when you where recording this song did you listen to it back and then listen to "Commander"? Really sweety this song is just pure dribble and dated. I really hope this is just a promo song because you are capable of WAY better than this girl!
In other Rowland news, after its release yesterday ‘Motivation’ currently sits at #31 and rising on the iTunes Top 100. Meanwhile on the retailer’ R&B chart, the song occupies the #4 position

Nicole post-poned again?

Just when we where getting excited for Nicole Scherzinger's album "Killer Love" to be released in Australia it was pulled from the release schedule and sent to the "TBA" pile. This is not good news as her fans will either buy the CD from the UK or download the album and never purchase it. Record companies really have to step up their game!

Jennifer Lopez gets "Into You" in her new video!

Jennifer Lopez is hot on the heels of "On the Floor" with the follow up song "I'm Into You" while the jury is still out on this track JLo has started filming the video, she flew down in a private jet to Chichen-itza in Yucatan, Mexico for the exotic shoot, and she also helicoptered in to film in Tulum's Turtle Beach for some steamy moments with Telenovela star William Levy, check out the behind the scenes video below!

Bachelor Girl Interview

Australia's favourite pop duo are gearing up for their reunion shows in conjuction with the release of a greater hits album with some "lost tracks" that we are dying to hear! The album is called "Loved & Lost" and it will be released in Australia on April 15.

We sat down with Tania Doko, lead singer of Bachelor Girl to ask her some questions about her opinion on pop music and the future of the band! Check the interview below

What is your opinion on pop music today?

Pop music is in an interesting state. As much as I love four-on-the-floor (in the club world), and have welcomed the influence of dance in pop music, I think it's gone too far now. I miss great melody and interesting lyrics in the mainstream. There's always one that comes out of the box though, like Adele spending weeks on end at no.1 on the U.S and UK pop charts. This screams loudly and corrects the imbalance a bit - people STILL want to feel something beyond tapping their feet, even with pop music.

How do you feel it has changed since "Buses & Trains" especially in Australia?

The traditional song form that 'Buses' is built on is not as readily heard on the radio these days. I'm all about rolling with the times, and I often write for other artists these days without a pre conceived idea that it should take on a traditional style of writing, and it can totally work. One thing that hasn't changed is.. a song that connects is still a song that connects! Good is still GOOD! Whether there's raging guitars, or clever lyrics or a die-to-for bass line, you still need that 'hook' to reel people in, to capture their imaginations. Hopefully you can reach people musically, intellectually AND right in their gut. That's called a triple threat!
On a practical level, obviously there's soooo many more ways you can reach people with your music these days. It can daunting, but equally a wonderful opportunity if you're committed and in it for the real deal.

Is there any discussions of a new album in the near future?

James and I live in a world where anything is possible...;-)

We hope that the possible happens because we love your music and miss the raw emotion and pure pop goodness that eminates from Bachelor Girl. If by some strange chance you live on another planet and haven't heard their music, check out the smash hit "Buses & Trains" below

J-Lo considering world tour?

Jennifer Lopez has found success (FINALLY!) with her number 1 smash hit "On The Floor" and follow up single "I'm Into You" With the release of her album "Love?" hitting our shores April 23rd she is considering a world tour. Peep what she has to say below

"My fans have waited a long time for this. We really want to do it at least once in my lifetime. Music is still my first love. This new album was two years in the making. I can't wait to show it to the world."

Kylie considering "anti-tour"

Fairy-godmother of Pop Kylie Minogue has released a statement about her Les Foloes Tour and her plans to halt further pop albums and have a scaled down tour that would feature B-Sides and rareities. This sounds like a good idea...for any artist that can actually sing live without needing dancing and flashing lights to distract the audience. Peep what Kylie had to say below

“I don’t know how soon I would rush in to doing another pop album. I’m definitely looking into opportunities of collaborations or different performances that will keep fans satisfied, keep my interest up. And one of those things is the possibility of doing an anti-tour. Because my tours are bigger and bigger, there’s so much talk about the spectacle—and that’s fantastic, that’s what I want to create. But I feel like, as with all parts of my life, what I try to do is find a balance. I’ve never done anything like that before, something like an anti-tour where there are no dancers, there are no lights. It’s just music and doing songs that are much loved by super fans but will never, ever, ever be heard anywhere—and certainly not in a live environment. I’m talking about B-sides or songs that were never meant to see the light of day, songs that were leaked but turned out to be quite popular. Certain covers I’ve done. Covers I haven’t yet done. I think it would be really cool to be in a tiny, tiny venue, maybe to like a week’s run somewhere and just strip everything back—just do songs that uber-fans would cry for. Not songs that I can do in this kind of environment, like the tour that I’m on now. That’s one of a few different ideas, but that’s one that I think we could probably pull together without too much fuss. I think the hard thing would be choosing the songs.”

Maybe it's time for Kylie to make the Britney collaboration happen???

Introducing...Cosmo Jarvis

Cosmo Jarvis has become an online overnight sensation, following a positive tweet from Stephen Fry, the new single "Gay Pirates" has clocked over 380,000 views on YouTube and shows no sign of slowing down.

Jarvis is a new British artist/songwriter and film maker whose DIY release is now up with the likes of Black Eyed Peas and Rihanna. His YouTube channel has racked up more than a million views and can be found here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dysG12QCdTA

“Cosmo Jarvis is a very interesting example to me of a new kind of person; a new kind of Artist” - Brian Eno, BBC6 Music Nov
“It’s vivid, violent and the most tragically moving love song we’ve heard all year” - Dan Martin NME

“My God, this is sensational. It's wonderful to see something new executed with talent, passion and fraternity. It's also about something, which is a 1,000,000% improvement on most of today's chart material. The song is catchy and the theme is inspirational. If I still had a Radio 1 Record of the Week, this would be it!” - Paul Gambaccini BBC radio

Some important and relevant feedback is paving the way for a great career from Jarvis, his ability to create lyrics that are cutting edge and fresh challenge that of Lady Ga Ga's "Born This Way"

‘Gay Pirates’ tells the story of two male lovers facing extreme discrimination in the inhospitable and far from accepting social climate of the pirate heyday. The single is about the triumph of love against all odds and obstacles; very graphic in lyrical detail, it creates a shocking image of a time buried in history.

The song challenges the convention of a traditional love song and attempts to break down the homophobic residue that still remains today. The pure shock value of the lyrics leave an imprint on the imagination and this is something that today's pop music often lacks.

Till The World Ends Video - Britney Spears

This is everything she should be doing at this stage in her career and we LOVE IT! There are 2 versions this is the storyline version with big budget special effects and the dance sequences are perfect. Check it out below

Jennifer Lopez is "Into You"

There is no stopping Jennifer Lopez who has released her second single off "Love?" titled "I'm Into You" featuring rapper Lil Wayne. The song is reminiscent of "Sell Me Candy" from Rihanna and even imitates the Bajan princess "Na Na Na Na Na" accent. Whilst we love us some J-Lo and are happy she is back on the charts we are kind of begging to hear "Loubitons" and the amazing "Hooked On You"

Check out the song below.
