Jacob Butler signs record deal!

Emerging Melbourne based singer songwriter and X Factor/Australian Idol alumni Jacob Butler, has signed a record deal with South Africa’s leading independent label, The David Gresham Record Company - home to The Temper Trap, Placebo, Bush and Nickleback.

The deal, which includes the southern African territories of Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia, will expose Jacob’s music to a potential audience of over 100 million people. Come My Way, the lead single from Butler’s debut album REASON, will be released throughout Southern Africa in the coming weeks with significant television and radio support.

We are delighted to have Jacob back where he belongs in the music industry! His infectious single UKOK is still high on rotation here at Novastream and we are looking forward to more singles and an album
“I am delighted to be working with The David Gresham Company, they are a fantastic label and a perfect fit for my music” Jacob said. “I’d love to play some shows in South Africa, and maybe have a remix done by Die Antwoord and DJ HI-TEK, he makes next level beats on his PC computer!”

Jacob has also received major label interest in Germany and will release Come My Way to German radio this week with the help of renowned Munich based radio promoter, Robert Larasser (Snow Patrol, Faithless, Bryan Adams, John Butler Trio). Come My Way has gained serious attention on Youtube with over 125,000 hits in 8 weeks

Jacob was recently announced as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition - the world’s biggest and most prestigious annual songwriting awards, for his track Mind Waltz. It looks like 2012 is set to be a great year for Jacob Butler.
